Dr. Andrew S. Levy

Dr. Andrew S. Levy is a board-certified Orthopedic Surgeon who completed his fellowship training in Sports Medicine and Shoulder at Duke University Medical Center. His Sports Medicine practice includes both non-operative and surgical treatment of athletes of all levels, ranging from the professional to the weekend warrior. Dr. Levy routinely performs arthroscopy of the shoulder, knee, elbow, and ankle. He also treats shoulder problems of all types including fractures, dislocations, impingement, rotator cuff tears, and arthritis.

Dr. Levy is not only a clinician and a surgeon but is a teacher and a researcher. He has published extensively on cartilage injuries, ligament reconstruction, shoulder arthroscopy, fractures, soccer injuries, football injuries, rugby injuries, and women’s sports injuries. He has given over 300 national and international lectures and frequently teaches surgical techniques at advanced learning centers worldwide. Dr. Levy has received numerous awards from the American Orthopedic Association, the American Fracture Association, and The International Olympic Committee.

A subset of his expertise is cartilage repair, regeneration, and transplantation. The practice makes every attempt to use cutting edge biological solutions to save joints.

Kevin Cousins, PA-C

Kevin is a physician assistant with several years of orthopedic/trauma experience. He completed his undergraduate studies at the Pennsylvania State University where he earned his bachelor of science degree in Kinesiology. While at Penn State, he also played wide receiver on the varsity football team.

He went on to complete his physician assistant studies at Long Island University, Brooklyn. Cousins began his physician assistant career working for a private orthopedic practice based in northern New Jersey and Manhattan. There he cultivated a variety of clinical and surgical skills including sports injury treatment, joint replacement, acute fracture care, and arthroscopies. Additionally, Cousins was trained in concussion management.

Since 2017, he has been working diligently alongside Dr. Levy in the operating room as well as in the office; continuing to provide the highest quality care for all patients. In the past couple of years, inspired while assisting in free clinics for Newark athletes, he has also become involved with coaching student-athletes.
